Seis - skiing on Europe's largest alp!
Seis am Schlern is situated at 1,000 m on a high plateau between Kastelruth and Völs, with the jags of the Schlern rise majestically in the background. The tradition-filled tourist resort is a starting point for the newly constructed panorama lift to Seiser Alm. Due to the perfect connection into the ski area, the resort enjoys wide popularity with winter sports fans; in spite of this, Seis has been able to retain its original character. The idyllic mountain village is distinguished by both of the churches and three old castle ruins.
Sporty alternatives to skiing include the ice rink and numerous winter hiking trails in the area, as well as numerous cross-country ski tracks. On a carriage ride, covered in blankets, guests can let themselves be enchanted by the Seiser Alm's winter landscape. You can let the day come to an end in one of the many cosy mountain lodges.
SkiThe snow-sure Alpe di Siusi ski area is situated in front of the breathtaking scenery of the Dolomites. It offers connections to Val Gardena, which can also be used with the lift pass "Val Gardena/Alpe di Siusi". A total of 60 km of piste on the largest high alp of Europe - 175 km in connection with Gröden - invite to perfect fun on the piste. More than 80 lift systems take you to well-prepared pistes. Several wifi hotsports give you free Internet access at lift offices and various lifts. - Share your most beautiful ski experiences with your friends and family at home!
Beginners and leisurely skiers will enjoy the wide runs at the Laurin and Florian lifts on Alpe di Siusi, whereas more the adventurous will enjoy the slalom and speed stretches. The slalom slope at Puflatsch is the most difficult run and offers an altitude difference of 250 m - a must for cracks! Endless free ride and deep snow areas are available for free stylers at Langkofel and Plattkofel! The snow park at Alpe di Siusi also provides all sorts of fun.
Even more variety awaits you with an upgrade to the Dolomiti Superskipass, giving you access to a total of 1,200 km of piste in 12 ski areas, including the Sella Ronda, the spectacular day circuit around the Sella Massif with ski and lift!
During the day numerous lodges and snack stations at the lifts invite guests in. After the lifts are closed, bars and discos in Seis attract the party-hungry in for some social apres ski. The gastronomic variety in the tradition-filled resort offers another way to enjoyably end the day.
In Seis, you aren't limited to skiing or snowboarding during the day. You can also go on snow shoe tours, ice skating and try out the numerous cross-country tracks. Discover the beautiful surroundings however you choose!
The snow-covered Alpe di Siusi offers its guests cross-country track with a total length of 60 km. On the varied stretches you can constantly enjoy a fabulous panorama of the Dolomites. The wide-reaching trail network, partially with challenging inclines and runs, is also a favourite stop for national teams.
The longest and simultaneously most difficult stretch is the 15 km long Joch trail, which is only suitable for very well conditioned skiers. Less experienced cross-country trackers can practice on the 2 km long trail designed for the purpose. It is located on the Alpe di Siusi and is perfect for getting a feel for the sport.
A special highlight is the cross-country race "Moonlight Classic". On the night of the 22nd of January 2016, skiers will meet up for the 10th time. The participants can choose between the 15 km and 30 km trail. Every year it commences at 8 p.m. After the race, traditional food and beverage keep the spectators and racers entertained.
