      Cagliari

      Cagliari is the capital island of Sardinia, an autonomous region of Italy. It has about 165,000 inhabitants, but the metropolitan area with 300,000 people gathering (Elmas, Pirri, Quartucciu, Quartu Sant'Elena).
      In ancient times, was an important Phoenician trading center (with the name of Karalis). It came under Roman suzerainty together with the rest of the island in 238 BC. One by one, was led by the Vandals, the Byzantine Empire, Genoa, Pisa, Aragon (during the Catalan domination the city was called Caller), Spain and Austria for a short time until he entered the Duchy of Piedmont in 1720.
