About Marilleva 1400 - presentation, information, photos and recommendations
Marilleva 1400 - pure sun and ski enjoyment!
Marilleva belongs to the Mezzana locality and has two centres, one situated at 900 m and the other at 1,400 m. One can travel to the higher district by car or comfortably with the gondola. The infrastructure in laid-back Marilleva 1400 is laid out so that everything is easy to reach without a car. The lifts run from here into the ski area, which is connected with bordering ski areas of Folgarida and Madonna di Campiglio. If you haven't had enough snow by evening, you can take advantage of the floodlit pistes in Marilleva 1400.
SkiThe "Superskirama" lift pass is valid for 380 kilometres of piste and 150 lifts (see ski region). The "Folgarida-Marilleva" offers you a further 53 km of piste at altitudes of between 1,300 and 2,180 m as well as 26 ski lifts. The area is largely dominated by easy and intermediate runs, but there are also a few black pistes such as the Nera Folgarida, at 1.8 km in length. If that's not enough, you can also use the direct connection over Monte Vigone to the famous Madonna di Campiglio to explore even more pistes.
The ski areas of Folgarida-Marilleva, Madonna di Campiglio and Pinzolo are comfortably connected through pistes. Winter sport fans can experience long and beautiful slopes such as the "Orso Bruno" in Marilleva or the "Azzura" in Folgarida, and also have fun in the different snow parks - every ski area has its own. Moreover, in Madonna di Campiglio, the famous and steep "Spinale direttissima" piste awaits you. Its lower part, called "Streif Schuhmacher", owes its name to the former German Formula 1 driver.
A further highlight is the offer of illuminated pistes in Folgardia, Marilleva and Pejo. For free stylers there is also a snow park in the areas of Folgardia-Marilleva and Passo Tonale.
Non-skiing activities can be enjoyed at the ice skating rink, a tennis hall or the ice stadium in Folgarida and in Mezzana. Or, you can explore the snowy mountain landscape on snow shoes. Recommended are day trips to the somewhat larger resort Malè (approx. 20 km away) and the world-famous ski metropolis Madonna di Campiglio (approx. 35 km away). You can also enjoy traditional culinary delectables in one of the numerous restaurants.
Around 55 km of prepared track for all skill levels await you in the Val di Sole. Cross-country skiing is tradition here. In some resorts, beginners can even try out free introductory courses - e.g in Vermiglio and Cogolo. In Marilleva there are 2 flood-lit pistes for keeping sporty in the evening hours.
In the town of Vermiglio (approx. 20 km away) is the longest trail (approx. 10 km) and is of intermediate level. If you want to go higher, don't miss the high-altitude trail at Passo Tonale (5 km) at nearly 1,900 m!
