About St. Christina - presentation, information, photos and recommendations
St. Christina - holiday fun on Sella Ronda!
St. Christina lies at 1,428 m and is the geographic centre of Val Gardena. It is located on the sunny side of Val Gardena and is distinguished by the striking Langkofel cliffs. St. Christina is known as the Saslong world cup run destination. In addition to modernly furnished hotels, the resort offers guests traditional farms, retaining its charm. It is especially popular among families with children and offers great connections to the Monte Pana, Ciampinoi, Col de Raiser and Seceda lift systems, as well as direct entry to the Sella Ronda and the Gardena Ronda.
SkiWith the "Val Gardena/Alpe di Siusi" lift pass, you have access to 175 kilometres of piste and 87 lift systems between 1,236 - 2,518 m. The altitude and modern snow-making systems ensure the highest possible snow security. Beginners will find great, soft pistes in Ortisei and Selva, as well as between Sellajoch and Piz Sella. Experts are drawn to the world cup mountain Ciampinoi with diverse black runs, e.g. the famous "Saslong". Boarders are happy as a clam in the three fun parks, and a variety of deep-snow areas excite free riders as well. The connection to the Seiser Alm perfects the ski enjoyment!
For even more selection, the lift pass upgrade "Dolomiti Superski" - for a legendary 1,200 kilometres of piste and 450 lifts! With this, you also have access to Sella Ronda, the famous circuit around the Sella Massif.
At all main turnaround points in the ski area "Val Gardena/Alpe di Siusi" you have access to free Wi-Fi hotspots. In the ski area "Dolomiti Superski" there are also a number of hotspots at the lift stations and in the restaurants and mountain huts where you can access free Wi-Fi. Additionally, countless mountain huts, such as the Comici hut, the Gamsblut hut or Fienile Monte are located on the pistes, offering dishes of good quality.
If you want to spend your holiday in Italy and experience proper après ski, you're at the right place in in Val Gardena. A total of 35 ski lodges invite guests in to linger during the day and party at night, and St. Christina's disco-bar "Piz5-Hofer's Alm" throws hot parties. More night-lift selection can be found in the close-by resorts Wolkenstein (Selva) and St. Ulrich.
Off-piste fun can be found e.g. at "Center Iman" in the resort centre with a climbing wall and natural ice rink. If you rather want to spend your time outdoors you can relax on an extended winter hike, with or without snowshoes on your feet, take a ride on a horse-drawn carriage or take part in a toboggan party: in St. Ulrich there is 6 km long run to try. At the "Mardolomit" pool centre in Ortisei, huge slides, a sauna and outdoor pools promise fun and relaxation.
St. Christina and the neighbouring resorts organise an attractive programme including culture, shows and events for all guests.
Val Gardena is a true paradise for cross-country fans. Not only do the trails offer an excellent panorama, but also something suitable for every skill level! A total of 133 km of variant tracks await cross-country skiers in Val Gardena.
Particularly due to the gorgeous location on a sunny high meadow on the Schlern Massif, Seiser Alm is one of the most popular and best cross-country areas in South Tyrol. The trails here are rather demanding and challenge even the most athletic cross-country skiers. Less experienced skiers also get their money's worth, e.g. on the approx. 12 km long high-altitude trail (1,620 - 1,810 m) from Selva through the beautiful Langental. If you really want to go high up, head to the approx. 23 km long high-altitude Monte Panna (1.640 - 1,790 m) track. Here you will also find the new Nordic centre of St. Christina. A cross-country fee of approx. €6 per day or €25 per week is applicable here.
