About Tesero - presentation, information, photos and recommendations
Tesero in Fleimstal!
Tesero is situated on a mountain terrace at 1,000 m. The resort is very centrally located and is known as the artistic and cultural centre of Val di Fiemme, offering guests numerous leisure time opportunities. Starting from Tesero you can best access the Ski Center Lantemar or enjoy yourself on the pistes of Alpe Cermis. Cross-country enthusiasts are also familiar with Tesero, as the 1991, 2003 and 2013 Nordic ski world championship took place here. The other resorts in Val di Fiemme also invite guests to visit for a day. Cavalese, for instance, is only approx. 5 km away.
SkiThe lift pass "Val di Fiemme-Obereggen" offers access to 5 different areas, being Alpe Cermis, Alpe Lusia-Bellamonte, Lavazé-Oclini, Passo Rolle and the Ski Center Latemar. Winter sports fans can therefore enjoy a great selection of 111 km of pistes with varying difficulties, accessible via 54 lifts, located between 860 and 2,388 m altitude.
Beginners should ideally start off on the southern slopes of Alpe Luisa. Pros however, can try themselves on the steep descent of the Olympia on the Alpe Cermis, just above Calvalese - from here you come speeding down 7.5 km towards the valley, covering a difference of altitude of 1,390 m.
Freestylers will find a few snow parks, e.g. at the Ski Center Latemar with rails, boxes, jumps, a half-pipe and much more. Also freeriders will feel right at home in this winter sports paradise! And to top it all, there is also a complimentary ski bus which commutes between all the resorts and ski areas.
The combined lift "Laner" with 6-person chairlift and 8-person cabin lift at Ski Center Latemar opened in the 16/17 winter season. It also gives you easy access to the new, approx. 750 m long toboggan run. A new mountain hut made of wood and glass with panoramic terrace and bar also opened at the Oberholz lift in December 2016 and invites you to take a break. In Alpe Cermis the children's area "Cermislandia" has toboggan run and a "Tubbybahn" as well as a practice area for the ski school. After a long day on skis you can warm up and make yourself comfortable at the modern lounge-bar "La Baita Tonda".
Apres ski in Val di Fiemme is rather laid-back. Here guests turn into one of the traditional lodges, in order to take in the last rays of sun, enjoy a fairy-tale surrounding or close a days' skiing with typical culinary specialities. Several restaurants in resort are also waiting to spoil you with regional or international specialities. Some other resorts in Val die Fiemme also offer bars and discos, promising a fun evening.
During the day, nearly all resorts offer all activities such as tobogganing, snow-tubing or winter hikes. Ice skating fans can head to the rink in Cavales or Lago di Tesero. Starting in winter 16/17 you can reach the new, approx. 750 m toboggan run that runs from the Almgasthaus Epircher-Laner down to the valley station of the Absam-Maierl charlift with the combined lift "Laner" in Latemar. A total of 9 toboggan runs can be found in the Eggen valley, e.g. the 2.5 km floodlit piste in the Obereggen ski area. In the neighbouring resort Predazzo there is an indoor pool suitable for the whole family. Furthermore the Alpine Coaster awaits toboggan fans, where you can reach speeds up to 40 km/h!
The "cradle of cross-country skiing", as Val di Fiemme is often called, is a true paradise for all cross-country enthusiasts. There's a reason why it has already been named host of the Nordic ski world championships three time s (1991, 2003 and 2013)! The stadium at the Lago di Tesero is often also referred to as the "heart of cross-country skiing in Val di Fiemme". In total there are 18 snow-sure tracks, of which 2 are illuminated in the evenings.
The traditional Marcialonga race has also taken place here for many years; this run covers 70 km through Val di Fiemme and Val di Fassa.
The area offers a total of 150 km of track and offers beginners both classic and skating-style trails in a varied trail network. The high-altitude trails at Lavazè Pass (1,800 m) are both very challenging and snow-sure. The longest track can be found in Deutschnofen-Petersberg and, with its 20 km, requires good condition.
