About Turin - presentation, information, photos and recommendations
The Province of Turin is on the border with France and Val d'Aosta, extending to Pinerolo, the picturesque Val di Susa, Canavese and the hills to the east and south of Turin.
The area is characterized by its varied landscapes: magnificent alpine resorts, vast pastures, forests and large vineyards.
The province also houses a number of reserves, including the Sacro Monte Nature Reserve in Belmonte, and the wonderful Gran Paradiso National Park, the undisputed land of ibex, boots, marmots, rare birds and other animals.
In this spectacular natural landscape, cultural and historical discoveries abound.
The whole territory is littered with signs of the long reign of Savoy: think of Savoy's elaborate residences surrounded by magnificent parks (also a UNESCO World Heritage Site).
However, the most visible evidence of Savoy power is seen in Turin, an eclectic city, which is a kind of open-air museum that combines baroque palaces, monuments from its glorious past and contemporary architecture. It is truly a dynamic scene that allows different styles to exist in complete harmony.
Turin | Turin (Turin in Piedmontese and Occitan) is an important industrial city in northwestern Italy. It is located on the left bank of the Pad river, close to its confluence with the Sangone, Dora Riparia and Stura di Lanzo rivers
