The most attractive feature of Mestre is Piazza Ferretto, the main square of the city. There are cafes, a number of shops and in the center of it is a general friendly agitation. The square is pedestrianized and surrounded by interesting and historic buildings, including the Church of San Lorenzo in the eighteenth century, the city's most important church.
