Peschiera del Garda is a medieval town, located on the southern tip of Lake Garda, at the mouth of the Mincio River and belongs to the Province of Verona. Due to its settlement in the lower part of the lake, the entire city is surrounded by canals, but
also by the walls of a fortress built in the sixteenth century.
It is a typical Italian city, with narrow streets, beautiful houses, colorful gardens and terraces that descend to the water's edge.
About 10 km from this city, in Castelnuovo del Garda, is Gardaland, the largest amusement park in Italy and the third largest in Europe. Much loved by families with children, this theme park covers 35 hectares, was inaugurated in 1975 and is visited by over
3 million tourists every year. Entry fees are also tailor-made and range from 10 euros (children) to 30 euros (adults).
The twisted streets of the city are home to historical monuments built since the fourteenth century. The oldest monuments in the city are the Viscontea Tower and the Castle, both built since the 1300s. Neither Villa Cossali Sella, Villa Arvedi D'Emilei or Villa
Negri, built between the 15th and 17th centuries, should be missed.
Another tourist point of the city of Castelnuovo del Garda is the Heroes Monument, built in honor of those who fell in battle in the First World War. This monument is located in the Central Square, next to the well built by Luigi Trezza.
