Bolzano is the capital of South Tyrol, the German-speaking Italian.
It is the largest city in the region and the archaeological museum is world renowned for the ice man "Otzi". It is also called Italian Christmas capital because of the specific market with Christmas.

This area was populated by the Romans in the fifteenth century BC. Bolzano was a center of commerce, because its location between Venice and Augsburg. In 1262 it was elevated to the level of Stadt (city).
In 1363 it became part of Hapzburgilor monarchy. After the Second World War it was annexed Bolzano Italy, and after coming to power of German fascism underwent italienizare policy.
After decades of tension, now is a European city Bolzano Ski International, which hosts students from around the world and many cultural events.
