About Campitello - presentation, information, photos and recommendations
Campitello - heart of the Dolomites!
This is one of the most significant winter sports centres in Val di Fassa, looming at an altitude of 1,448 m. The picturesque resort of Campitello is dominated by the majestic Langkofel (3,181 m) and Col Rodella (2,485 m). Campitello offers a direct connection to the Sella Ronda round trip where you'll experience guaranteed fun. As this idyllic resort enjoys many days of good weather, you can relax in the sun and marvel at the wonderful nature after your time on the piste. Cosy cafés invite you to sit down and enjoy a coffee of Campari in the afternoon sun, the mostly family-run pizzerias offer fantastic house-made pizza and pasta. Every year on carnival Sunday there is traditional mask parade in Campitello which is a spectacular view for all visitors in the region.
SkiWith the "Val di Fassa-Carezza" lift pass, you have access to approx. 114 kilometres of piste that are connected with around 59 lifts between 1,200 - 2,625 m in the Alba, Canazei, Campitello, Karersee, Pozza and Vigo areas. Here you will find numerous free ride and deep snow areas, as well as many intermediate runs. Cracks can enjoy the black pistes, such as the famous "Tomba" at the Ciampedie and floodlit fans will get their money's worth at Pozza.
The local ski area of Campitello is located at Col Rodella (2,485 m): mainly intermediate descents await you here. The sunny, wide slopes are suitable for leisure skiers but the area also offers something for snowboarders. From Campitello you have direct access to the famous Sella Ronda: The 40 km long day trip with skis around the Sella Massif is an absolute must for all ski fans! Numerous huts, the so-called "Rifugi", are situated along the pistes and invite you to relax and sunbathe.
With the Dolomiti Superski lift pass (upgrade available for a fee), you can access not only the Sella Ronda, but also a total of 1,200 kilometres of piste and 450 lifts in 12 ski areas!
After Canazei, Campitello is the liveliest resort in Val di Fassa and offers a lot of other activities, alongside great ski. Numerous huts tempt you in to relax, whereas later in the evening the bars, pubs and discos come into full swing. Even more party and apres ski can be found in the approx. 2 km distant Canazei, where the bars and discos provide fun until late into the night. Top locations are e.g. "Paradis", "Cliff", "Lieber Augustin" and "La Montanara". Wallowers will find lovely restaurants, which invite to try the national and regional specialities.
There are also lots of leisure activities for you to do: sports fans can make use of the sports centre with climbing wall, curling lanes and natural ice rink. Toboggan fans will find many nice runs to try out - in Canazei you can even enjoy tobogganing until late into the night. Nobody however should miss out on the masked parade that takes place on Fasching Sunday. Let yourself get carried away!
Cross-country fans definitely get their money's worth in Val di Fassa: a total of 53 km network of cross-country trails for both beginners and experienced skiers can be found here. The famous, annual "Marcialonga" is well known to cross-country fans, as well as marathon racers, and stretches over 70 km from Val di Fassa to Val di Fiemme. Further routes on the Marcialonga trail are covered in artificial snow. In and around Campitello there are various easy trails available, up to 16km length.
The 2.5 km Rodolon trail in Pozza di Fassa is illuminated every Wednesday and Saturday until 22:00 and offers unforgettable fun on the piste until the late hours. Even more challenging is the trail at high altitude near Ciampac and cross-country skiers with a lot of stamina can test themselves on the 18 km long circuit between Pozza and Canazei.
