It is a tourist center, consisting mainly of hotels and shops.
From here, the Marmolada cable car, which connects the departure station (1,450 m) to Punta Rocca (3,265 m) in three sections, near Punta Penia (3,342 m), the highest peak of the Dolomites. Recently renovated, it can carry more than 900 people per hour with cabins with 70 seats.
At the end of the second section of the cable car (Piz Serauta, 2,950 m), there is a museum dedicated to the First World War, with testimonies about the battles that took place in those mountains.
