Sorrento is a small Italian town, located in Campanina region, southern Italy, about 50 kilometers from Naples.
The town is beautifully situated on top of white cliffs, very steep, offering a great view of the Gulf of Naples.
Sorrento is a quiet town with cool lemon, a small beach and many cafes. Sorrento spectacular tourists choose to relax in nature. Since medieval times, many poets, writers and artists have arrived here for a while, away from the hectic life here is so inspired by the beautiful sucking ribs and famous sunsets.
Sorrento is very popular due to its location as a starting point to nearby attractions. Sorrento peninsula location is just 5 km from Capri, where you can easily reach the port of Marina Piccola. Also, Ischia and Procida, whose silhouettes can be seen on clear days, are available in a very short time with fast boats. Sorrento is also the terminus of Circumvesuviana, a small train that goes from Naples. Tourists can reach Pompeii and Harculaneum this way in about 30 minutes or Naples in about an hour.
Sorrento is the native town of the poet Torquato Tasso. Besides the many charming places, here you can see a lot of historical buildings with unforgettable views.
