Turin is located in an area of 130 km ² in a plain bounded by the river Stura di Lanzo, Sangone and Pad (which crosses the city from south to north). Another river that crosses the city is Dora Riparia. Pad (Po) separates the hills of the city torineză plain that drops in altitude from 280 to 220 feet (from west to east).
