The most important and longest street, which crosses the whole resort is Grand Viale Santa Maria Elisabetta. The nearest beach is Bianca Beach. Each hotel has its own beach, but there are also two public beaches in the north and the upper part of the island.
In fact, '' lido '' in Italian really means '' beach ''!
Festivals in Lido:
1. Festa della Retentore - it is celebrated in the middle of July. It is a sign of joy that they have escaped the plague since 1576. There are services in churches, music concerts and organizing realms for adults and children. At the end follows the fireworks
show, which lasts one hour and can be seen throughout the lagoon.
2. The Golden Lion Film Festival - is the oldest film festival in the world, and in value it is equivalent to the Cannes Festival and the Oscars. It is organized at the end of August in Venice, but the epicenter is in Lido, when the entire resort is invaded
by moviegoers and their fans. Due to the name of the festival, the island of Lido is also called the 'Golden Island'.
