About Gargnano

The name of the village appears for the first time in a document from 937 under the name of Garniano. The passages of the Roman historian Titus Livius and the inscriptions on the headstones attest the presence of Etruscans, Celts, Cenomanians and Romanians. Between 1350 and 1426, the Gargnano territory was a possession of the Visconti of Milan, later a possession of the Republic of Venice.
